This piece was composed in 2011 and dedicated to Miguel Mateu Albero, teacher and concert percussionist. Structured in three movements, the work is presented in a modern style throughout, moving from low to high difficulty. The first movement is like an introduction in a playful style, while also wanting to be fun.
The fusion of modal and tonal aspects creates a particular atmosphere in terms of melody and harmony. The melodic lines are have been given great care, from an emotional point of view, which helps the performer draw them out more easily, and also makes them very pleasant for the listener.
If the first movement is presented in a fun way, almost innocent we could also say, without great technical difficulty, the second requires great delicacy of interpretation, in which the performer’s sensitivity is put to the test in a succession of ideas of great emotional depth. This movement is not technically easy, as it demands good independency of hands in the opening bars of the vibraphone. The third movement is undoubtedly the most difficult technically, and requires full use of the resources and skills of the performer to achieve the desired success.
