Julio J. Maestro was born in Quart de Poblet in 1978. He started his musical studies at the Sociedad Ateneu Musical in Cullera and the Conservatory of Music Augustine Olivert in Cullera (Valencia), where his teachers were Vicente Bustillos and Angel Murillo. He continued his musical studies at the Conservatory of Music in Valencia with Luís Sanjaime Meseguer and José Cerveró, obtaining a qualification as an advanced clarinet teacher with the highest distinctions.
He has participated in courses for clarinet with Juan Vercher, Albert Rodriguez, Jean Louis Sajot, Juanjo Mercadal, Salvador Brotons, Jose V. Herrera, Manuel Martín Ventura, Reinhard Wienser, J. Antonio Fenollar and David Martinez. He has also participated in courses in pedagogy and computer science. He is an expert in the design and development of websites, and in the edition and publishing of music scores. He is one of the principal contributors to the publishing company Brotons & Mercadal, Edicions Musicals, being responsible for the digitalization of scores. He has worked in various orchestras and bands. He is a founder-member of the chamber music group Clarinet Ensemble Clar-i-Arts, performing in concerts all over Spain.
Since 2006, he has been working as an official secondary-school music teacher in La Mancha, Spain.
