Giuliano Belotti (*Bergamo, 1974)
Composer and guitar player
At present, he lives in Barcelona.
He has released by M.A.P Milan a solo recording, Alma del Sur, featuring music of Spanish and South American composers, and a second one, Hawa, in duo with the Cuban percussionist Armando Cornell. Currently, in collaboration with the Chamber Orchestra of Gran Teatre del Liceu, he is working on a third album, “Vivaldi on Six Strings”, featuring his guitar revision of the integral of lute and mandolin trios and concertos. Composers like, Marcel Khalife, Ricardo Llorca and Simone Iannarelli have dedicated to him some of their own compositions.
As a composer, he has published his chamber music works with Brotons & Mercadal in Barcelona and solo guitar works with Les Productions d’Oz in Canada. About his Guitar Works, Steve Marsh (Classical Guitar Magazine) writes: […] The eight pieces are all written in a contemporary idiom and without exception are attractive, musically accessible and skillful in their construction. […] It is always a good sign when, after playing through new works by a composer, one seeks out more from the same name. This is what happened after spending a little time on this book. Guitar Works contain some lovely material for inclusion on concerts or recordings.
He gives masterclasses in Europe, USA and Mexico.
