Peregrí Portolés Chulvi was born in Borriol (Castelló) in 1963. He did all his musical studies at the Conservatori Superior de Música de València with M. Rosa Gil and he obtained the Prize of Honour at the elemental, medium and superior levels.
He has been awarded several scholarships and has had the opportunity to extend his musicals studies from prestigious professors and guitarists.
He made his first recital at the age of 8 and since then has been performing throughout Spain and on radio and television, both as a soloist and as a member of different chamber groups, particularly as part of the duo formed with the pianist Clara Llop and with the flautist Nèlia Sanxis.

At the present, he lives in Tortosa and
mainly works in Catalonia.
He has received several prizes in national and international competitions: II Concurs regional in Vila-real, V Certamen Nacional Manuel Palau in València, IX and XI Certamen Internacional Francesc Tàrrega in Benicàssim in 1977 and 1979, being the youngest finalist in history of the competitions IV Mostra Juvenil per a solistes in Barcelona, III Concurs Nacional de joves intèrprets in Seville, among others. Since 1985 he has been guitar professor of the Conservatori Professional de Música in Tortosa.
Recently he has turned his full attention to music pedagogy and he attends continuing education courses in interpretation and in instrument pedagogy.
In terms of composition, he is the author of various works for solo guitar and for different chamber groups, and has written exercises of a pedagogic nature.
