Jordi Marcé was born in Igualada in 1979. He obtained his doctorate at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya where he works as a teacher and researcher in the fields of mechanics and computer biomechanics. He devotes his free time to composition. He did his musical studies at the Conservatori Municipal de Música d’Igualada Mestre Joan Just i Bertran, where he obtained the professional title in cello with professors Antoni Cabanes i Romain Boyer, and he studied harmony, composition and counterpoint with Concepció Ramió.
He actively participates in the city’s cultural life in various musical entities and ensembles of all kinds (orchestras, choirs, chamber music groups and modern music). In the field of composition, he has composed and arranged several pieces for different ensembles, in a variety of genres and styles, obtaining several prizes: Premi Ciutat de Reus de Composició for children’s choirs (1998 and1999), Premi de Composició Joaquim Maidéu (2004) and Premi Ciutat d’Igualada de Composició Musical Paquita Madriguera (2004 and 2006) with the works El gat amb botes: Petita simfonia en 4 moviments for orchestra, 2 pianos and percussion and Rapsòdia for orchestra respectively.

At present, he lives in Igualada.
He mainly works in Catalonia.
In 2007, he wrote the Suite for the procession of Sant Crist in Igualada, which is performed regularly in the Easter processions. He has participated in the arrangements of the CD Amb lletra Petita of the group of sad-pop Conxita, which won the Enderrock 2007 prize for the best CD of the year according to the reviews.
