The Outline of the Angel is a work ordered by the Symphonic Orchestra of the Region of Murcia for the commemoration of the IIIrd centenary of the birth of Francisco Salzillo (1707-1783).

It owes its title to the Angel of the Annunciation that forms part of a group of sculptures entitled “The Agony in the Garden.” A symbol of timelessness, the work is structured in three parts. It mixes, starting from only one motif, as guideline, all kinds of timeless procedures, interlacing symbols such as beating on wood, the sketch the sculptor is drawing of the outline of the angel, yesterday, today, tomorrow, Hope (located in a very brief final prayer that justifies all the motif developed before), the chaos of an impossible yesterday, the order of a past that has already been accepted and the disturbing sense of a future yet to come. The search for this timelessness is framed in traditional creative resources fleeing from free instrumental effects, seeking a sonorous clash through cumulative resources that either revolve around a succession of experiences united by the same link in the past configured or in an imposing chaos that the past that could not be leaves in our memory and with a rhythm like to the beating of an accelerated heart that ignores what is to come. As a fundamental part of this piece , the vibraphone interlaces a realistic vision  continuously mixed with a component close to popular languages and that serves as juxtapositiion of elements of contrast  that keep us from moving away from a reality we do not always know how to interpret.
