Les papillons is a composition that comes from the idea of chaos and the concept of the butterfly effect. This concept holds that given initial conditions of a chaotic system, the slightest variation of these conditions can cause the system to evolve in very different forms and contents, either short or long term. Thus, Les papillons is structured through the combination of stable and unstable systems and parts, where a small variation caused by changing a musical parameter (height, texture, timbre or harmony), triggers a modulatory effect we It leads to new forms of development. Written in a movement, it has four distinct parts where the controlled randomness combined, precise writing and chance. The same idea is present in every performance differently. Different ways to go to the same place.
