I sing to my people

Description

Work commissioned by the Valencia City Council, for its performance in the “Ciutat de València” International Music Band Competition, Honor Section, in 2001; The work was composed to demonstrate the high level of the magnificent symphonic bands of great international prestige.
It is a complex score, composed of different cells that develop until reaching great difficulties, both in execution and interpretation.
With this work, through color and instrumental technique, the author presents fragments of popular songs, ending in the second theme of the IV movement with a noble melody. The work had a magnificent reception, both for its content and for the way of displaying all the materials. This musical piece was recorded on a CD, with the Band obtaining First Prize and Honorable Mention in the aforementioned section.
