Jorsip

Description

Composed in 2011 and dedicated to Jordi Masip, trombone professor at the conservatory of Tarragona and friend of the composer.
Structured in a single movement but in an A – B – A form (rhythmic, slow, rhythmic) and with an introduction and final coda, this work blends the modal with the tonal throughout the entire composition. The melodic lines are beautifully maintained from an emotional point of view, which means that the performer can retain them more easily, in addition to being very pleasant to listen to.
The slow part is of great delicacy, but also of a very definite rhythmic profile. A small cadenza leads to the full recapitulation of A, which then leads to the recapitulation of the introduction of B with some variation, and it is resolved by a final coda that concludes this concerto.
The approximate duration is 12 minutes.
